Driver crashed into school bus then drove off towards Acle

None of the 12 school children on board the single decker were injured in the collision near Moulton St Mary garden centre.

But officers want to trace the driver of a dark metallic blue Citroen Picasso after the incident just after 5pm on Wednesday, January 23.

The bus was heading along Acle Road towards Freethorpe when the Citroen, travelling towards Acle, collided with a panel at the back of the 34-seat single decker.

Fortunately no one on the bus was hurt but the driver of the Citroen failed to stop at the scene.

It is thought the Citroen would have sustained noticeable damage to its offside and front bumper and the door mirror was broken off the car and left at the scene.

Police are asking anyone with information about the vehicle or driver involved, or anyone who witnessed the collision, to call PC Adrian Fytche at Great Yarmouth on 101.

I am assuming by looking at Local timetables that the bus involved was most probably a Ambassador Travel Optare Solo running a 730 Service or a OurBus Plaxton Beaver on Acle Academy Late bus duties.
